Day 2: Kaifu To Muroto Misaki

Expected rain all day today but was pleasantly surprised to find it cloudy but rain free in the morning.

Since i could find no rooms between Kaifu and the cape, we had no choice but to train & bus through to the cape. Started with a train from the town of Kaifu to the town of Kan no Ura. Since that is the end of the line, we switched to a bus from there.

We rode the bus to a tourist attraction caled "Meoto Iwa," Couples Rock, which are two rocks that have been together so long (centuries?) that they have officially been married. If you look, you'll see a rope connecting them like a wedding band.

Once there, we got off the bus and walked the last 14 km (8.5 mi) down to Cape Muroto and our lodging at Temple 24. Sure enough, as soon as we got off the bus it started to rain.

Temple 24:

Tomorrow we walk to the town of Nahari.
